Hand-picked News

The man who sat across from Moscow and Kyiv now works for Sam Altman.

  • What happened: OpenAI hired former Army Secretary Dan Driscoll as senior counselor for national security modernization, a new role. He left the Pentagon in September after reported friction with Pete Hegseth.

  • Why it matters: At the Army, Driscoll pushed to modernize with commercial tech, using Ukraine as the model. He joins right after Anthropic refused the Pentagon unrestricted access to Claude.

  • What’s next: His focus is allies. Altman wants him spreading “democratic AI” abroad. Driscoll’s pitch: AI that cuts paperwork and gets answers to the right person faster.

How long until “democratic AI” becomes a line item in allied defense budgets?

Builder move this week: If you sell to government, rebuild one demo around document triage.

Your boss can now ask Claude what you’ve been asking Claude.

  • What happened: Anthropic launched Smart Reports for Claude Enterprise. It samples a team’s transcripts, groups them into workstreams, and puts a dollar cost on each. Off by default.

  • Why it matters: Names are hidden unless an owner enables attribution, which lets viewers reveal who ran each session. Every reveal is logged. Anthropic says it’s not for performance reviews. The report still ranks sessions by cost and counts the ones that produced nothing usable.

  • What’s next: Sessions about health or union activity show up only as aggregate numbers, and admins can’t ask custom questions about them. A past “anonymized” Anthropic dataset was reportedly de-anonymized with off-the-shelf LLMs.

About 80 percent of Anthropic’s business reportedly comes from corporate customers.

Builder move this week: Ask your admin if attribution is on, and move side projects off your work account.

Palo Alto’s threat team tested frontier models and came back with a sales pitch.

  • What happened: Unit 42 says frontier models now act as full security researchers, not coding assistants. Its findings flag autonomous zero-day discovery and multi-step exploit chaining.

  • Why it matters: The scary part is speed. Unit 42 expects the gap between a disclosed bug and a working exploit to collapse once these models spread.

  • What’s next: The answer is a new paid service, Unit 42 Frontier AI Defense. It hunts for old weaknesses that could become fast attack paths and hands you a remediation roadmap.

Every vendor selling the threat is also selling the fix.

Builder move this week: Shorten your own patch SLA for internet-facing dependencies to days, not weeks.

A CRM so smart, it updates itself.

HubSpot's CRM is so smart, it now updates itself. Calls get logged and summarized the moment they end. New leads get researched and a first outreach drafted, automatically. Deals move forward on their own, with next steps flagged before you have to ask.

Even the one repetitive task you've been meaning to fix can now run itself, no code required. Customers using it are already seeing the difference.

This isn't the CRM you have to work hard to figure out. It's the one already working before you log in.

If Anthropic keeps growing at this pace, what do you think happens next?

  • A: Biggest AI IPO ever – 50%

  • B: AI bubble finally bursts - 50%

The AI market is at a strange crossroads: people believe Anthropic could become a historic public company, but they're just as worried it's all hype waiting to collapse. The real test won't be how fast it grows, but whether its revenue can catch up with the expectations.
