Someone on your team knows the perfect way to run that analysis. Now everyone can use it.

Claude for Excel and PowerPoint just added two things: it can see multiple files at once (no more copy-pasting between tabs), and it lets you save any workflow as a reusable "skill." Build a comp table once, turn it into a button, done.

Your junior analyst can now run the same process your VP spent years perfecting.

Anthropic included ready-made skills too—audit Excel models for errors, build competitive decks in PowerPoint. The big idea: stop losing time because only one person knows how to do the thing.

Why this matters: Teams waste hours recreating workflows that already exist in someone's head. This makes tribal knowledge shareable without writing documentation nobody reads.

Quick test: Next time you build something useful in Excel, save it as a skill. See if someone else can run it without asking you how.

The standalone Sora app died fast, so OpenAI's moving it where people actually are.

  • Sora launched strong in September 2025 but downloads fell 45% by January. Even a Disney deal couldn't save it.

  • ChatGPT has hundreds of millions of users vs Sora's 9.6 million downloads. OpenAI's betting integration fixes the problem.

  • Video AI costs way more to run than text. Adding this to ChatGPT could mean higher prices or strict limits on how many videos you can make.

OpenAI tried the separate app approach and it failed. Now they're doing what worked for DALL·E: stick it directly in ChatGPT where everyone already hangs out.

⚠️ The real question: Does ChatGPT even need video generation? Most people use it for text, code, and quick answers. Making videos is slower and more expensive. This could either give Sora new life or prove some AI tools don't belong everywhere.

Watch for: Price increases or usage caps on video in the next few months. Running video AI at ChatGPT's scale isn't cheap.

Musk just announced an AI that can do the work of entire software companies, right as he's being sued for maybe building it with the wrong company's money.

  • Two AIs working as one: xAI's Grok thinks and plans, Tesla's agent actually controls the computer by watching your screen and using the mouse/keyboard like a person would.

  • The name is a joke aimed at Microsoft. Musk is literally saying this AI can replace companies like Microsoft. He claims it runs on cheap hardware (Tesla's $650 chip).

  • Tesla shareholders are suing him for building valuable AI tech at xAI instead of Tesla, then making Tesla pay to use it. This announcement dropped right in the middle of that lawsuit.

Here's the mess: Musk said for months that Tesla didn't need xAI's technology. Now Tesla just invested $2 billion in xAI and suddenly they're launching this together. The timing looks really bad when shareholders are already accusing him of exactly this.

⚠️ The real issue: AI agents that control computers are real and powerful tech. But did Musk build this with Tesla's resources while keeping it in his other company? That's what the lawsuit is about, and this announcement might prove the shareholders' point.

Watch for: Whether this actually launches or becomes another Musk promise that goes nowhere. Also watch the lawsuit, this announcement could make things worse for him.
