OpenAI is rolling out a native ChatGPT assistant directly inside Microsoft PowerPoint, transforming the classic enterprise tool into an automated slide generator.
It builds, tweaks, and roasts your narrative: Beyond just generating a deck from raw notes or spreadsheets, the AI acts as an aggressive editor that can critique your finished presentation, spot narrative holes, and actively predict the objections your clients or audience will throw at you.
No data transfers required: Thanks to direct integrations with Gmail, Outlook, and SharePoint, the assistant can pull data straight from your connected work accounts to build the slides for you without any awkward copying and pasting.
It’s a massive democratization play: OpenAI is skipping the exclusive corporate gatekeeping by making this feature available to almost everyone, rolling it out across all tiers from free accounts right up to ChatGPT Business.
Microsoft no longer holds exclusive rights to OpenAI’s tech, prompting OpenAI to aggressively expand into workplace software to close the competitive gap with Anthropic's Claude and Google's Gemini.
👀 Our take: OpenAI needs cash, and the fastest way to get it is by making themselves indispensable to business users who live inside office suites. By building an independent add-in right next to your slides, OpenAI is effectively bypassing Microsoft’s own Copilot. Watch for how this pressure forces Microsoft to adapt, especially now that their exclusive model partnership is officially over.
Try this now: If you have the beta, open a finished deck, fire up the ChatGPT sidebar, and prompt it: "Act as a hostile investor. Analyze this deck, find the three weakest arguments, and tell me exactly how you would tear this pitch apart."
Meta has quietly launched Forum, a standalone iOS app that strips out the main feed drama and wraps Facebook Groups in a clean, Reddit-like interface powered by AI.
It has a global AI search brain: Instead of digging through endless comment threads, a native AI tab called “Ask” instantly compiles answers, summaries, and recommendations from across every group on the network.
Anonymity is a partial illusion: The app heavily pitches the ability to post under a nickname for candid discussions, but group administrators can still see your real, linked Facebook identity.
The algorithm takes a backseat: The main timeline is entirely chronological and limited only to communities you choose to follow, skipping the ads, friend updates, and algorithmic outrage bait.
The stealth launch follows reports that Mark Zuckerberg told staff that AI-driven efficiencies would allow Meta to rapidly ship dozens of experimental standalone companion apps with much smaller teams.
👀 Our take: Meta knows Reddit is the current king of "human-generated answers," but they also know they are sitting on the world’s largest archive of niche community data inside Facebook Groups. By unbundling them into a slick app with an AI semantic search layer, Meta is aiming directly at Reddit's core utility. Watch how quickly they push this out of testing if users buy into the AI-assisted community vibe.
Try this now: If you have access to the US iOS App Store, download Forum, log in with your Facebook credentials, and hit the "Ask" tab to test how effectively the AI synthesizes actual crowd-sourced data versus a typical search engine.
Universal Music Group has locked in a major multi-year licensing deal with TikTok, ensuring its massive catalog stays on the platform while forcing the app to systematically scrub unauthorized AI-generated music.
TikTok is officially on deepfake duty: Under the new terms, the platform is contractually obligated to actively hunt down and delete unauthorized AI music and synthetic voice clones that mimic human artists.
The corporate flip-flop is real: Just a day before this announcement, UMG struck a deal with Spotify to let users actively create AI remixes and covers for a premium fee, proving the label isn’t anti-AI, it’s just aggressively protective of who gets a cut.
Economics are being rerouted: The deal explicitly guarantees that the platform's economics flow directly back to human songwriters and artists, shutting down previous loopholes where AI-generated content diluted the royalty pool.
⚠️ Our take: The music industry is drawing a hard line: you can use AI, but only on the record labels' terms. By forcing TikTok to police its own feed for copycat bots, UMG is setting the compliance standard for how social platforms must protect intellectual property in the generative era.
It proves major labels won't let tech platforms use "user-generated AI" to escape paying for real talent.
